The extended formula-1 community has its next prominent COVID-19 case: Flavio Briatore, former world champion maker of Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso as team leader of Benetton or Renault respectively, was tested positive for the Coronavirus according to Italian media reports.
Unlike Sergio Perez, who, due to his infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, had to miss the two races in Silverstone, but showed little symptoms, Briatore (70) seems to feel the disease physically. In the Italian media his condition is described as serious”. What this means in concrete terms, however, is left open.
Encouraging: The businessman has apparently not had to be transferred to an intensive care facility so far, but is treated medically at a normal station of the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan.
Briatore recently participated in a celebrity football match, at least one player (Sinisa Mihajlovic, coach of FC Bologna) has also tested positive for the corona virus. Whether the former Formula One team leader was infected there, however, cannot be said for certain at the moment.
Furthermore, the Italian was just involved in a public dispute with the authorities. They had forced his Billionaire Club in Porto Cervo to close because it was declared a Corona hotspot. 60 club employees were allegedly tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.
