World-class goalkeeper Mattias Andersson (39) of the handball league SG Flensburg-Handewitt has announced his career ending.
“In summer 2018 is definitely over and the time has come to do something else,” the Swede told Mannheim tomorrow. In fact, the European Champion of 2000 wanted to quit after this season, but then he signed a new contract at Flensburg.
Andersson said: “That was a tough decision. I always said I was quitting 2017. But I feel like I can still keep up. We will see whether this decision was the right one. But I can say one thing: after that, I will no longer be subject to an extension.”
