Media: Gladbach wanted to get judges and Waldschmidt

Borussia Munich had evidently been targeting young national player Luca Waldschmidt from SC Freiburg and his former U21 teammate Marco Richter from FC Augsburg.

Gladbach asked Waldschmidt how “Sport Bild” reported in the transfer window closed since Monday. The Shooting Star refused, therefore ruled out a departure from the Breisgau categorically.

Next summer the situation with the 23-year-old in the coming summer is different. Waldschmidt is then said to have for 23 million euros, and probably also voluntarily.

For judges such as Waldschmidt a discovery of the U21 European Championship in Italy and San Marino this summer, according to the report Gladbach’s sports director Max Eberl made an offer of ten million euros in the end of August. Eberls Augsburger Pendant Stefan Reuter, however, rejected the offer as too low. The change did not take place.

The 21-year-old is still tied to the joining cities until 2023. There is no exit clause in his contract.
